A Case Study in Embedded System Design: an Engine Control Unit

Abstract:

Embedded systems for automotive applications are currently extensively designed by hand, and this causes many inefficiencies, etc... An application of a codesign methodology is presented in this paper. We chose the Engine Control Unit of a commercial vehicle as our test. A comparison with the hand design unit is also presented.
