How do we mic the audience?

The audience mics are AKG C 1000 S. These are powered mics that generate a lot of signal and have reasonable directionality. (The power comes from the mixer through the mic cable, so don't put batteries in them.)

We have three of them. Standard setup is to place two at the left front and right front of the audience, raised high and angled inwards and downwards. Place the third at the center rear, facing forwards and angled downwards, to pick up people at the back who won't SPEAK UP!

Plug the three mic cables into top of the mixer. The mics need to be processed by the DBX units (see a later FAQ).

Note: In the case containing the mics, there are some small widgets that can be used to make the mics more directional. See the manual for how to do this.
