Bio: | Ken Lutz received a BSEE degree in Electrical Engineering from the
University of California, Davis in 1979. From 1985 till 1998, he was
connected to the University of California, Berkeley as technical staff
leader on the RAID (with Randy Katz), NOW (with Dave Patterson and David
Culler) and Infopad (with Bob Brodersen and Jan Rabaey).
In 1998 Ken left the university to become Director of Technical
Operations at Inktomi. At Inktomi Ken was in charge of the architecture,
design and operation of the international search engine infrastructure.
He was responsible for the management of technical staff, defining
operational quality and performance requirements for 24x7x365 revenue
producing systems. He was also Director of Information Technology in
which he oversaw Corporate MIS, Telecommunications, Security and Network
Architectures supporting worldwide corporate operations.
His current interests include the implementation of next-generation
reliable computing systems and next generation network architectures. |
