Prof. Igor Markov

Igor Markov is an assistant professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan. He is working in the area of Physical Design of Integrated Circuits, particularly on hypergraph partitioning, VLSI placement and interconnect prediction. Prof. Markov's results on mathematical and combinatorial optimization lead to the development of leading-edge CAD tools now used at Cadence, Intel and IBM. Other research efforts are directed at technology extrapolation for VLSI and reuse of Intellectual Property in CAD. Prof. Markov did his master's and doctorate work at UCLA.
