Michael Kishinevsky holds his MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the Electrotechnical University of St.Petersburg, Russia. He has been a researcher at the St.Petersburg Mathematical Economics Institute Computer Department, Russian Academy of Science in 1979-1982 and 1987-1989. From 1982 to 1987 he has been with a software company. From 1988 to 1992 he has been a senior researcher at the R\&D Coop TRASSA. From 1992 to 1994 he worked as a visiting associate professor at the Department of Computer Science, Technical University of Denmark. Since the end of 1994 he is a professor at the University of Aizu, Japan.
His present research interests are in the field of design of asynchronous and reactive systems and theory of concurrency. He coauthored two books in asynchronous design and has published over 40 journal and conference papers.
