Carl Sechen


Carl Sechen received the B.E.E. degree from Minnesota and the M.S. degree from M.I.T. In 1986 he received the Ph.D. degree from UC Berkeley.

From July 1986 through June 1992 he was an Assistant and then an Associate Professor at Yale University. Since July 1992 he has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington.

His primary research interests are the design and computer-aided design of high-speed digital integrated circuits. He was the initial developer of the TimberWolf placement and routing package. Together with William Swartz, he co-founded TimberWolf Systems, Inc., a placement and routing software vendor.
