Enrico Malavasi graduated in Electrical Engineering at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 1984. In 1993 he received a M.S. in EECS from the University of California at Berkeley. In 1989 he joined the Dept. of EECS of the University of Padova, Italy, as assistant professor. Between 1990 and 1995 he has collaborated with the CAD group of the Dept. of EECS of the University of California at Berkeley, where he worked on performance-driven CAD methodologies for analog design. In July 1995 he joined Cadence as architect for physical design, and he is currently involved in the development of advanced tools for the automation and acceleration of custom IC layout design. His research interests include several areas of design automation: layout, design methodologies, optimization, extraction and circuit analysis.
