Dr. Lukas van Ginnekan


Lukas P.P.P. van Ginneken is one of the founders of Magma Design Automation, Inc, which was founded in 1997 to address the timing closure problem in Physical Design. At Magma he architected the database, the general methodology and the timing optimization. Currently he manages the placement group.

Mr. van Ginneken obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1989 from Eindhoven University in the Netherlands. His thesis work was in Physical Design. Mr. van Ginneken joined the logic synthesis group at IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center in 1989 where he worked on logic synthesis buffering and dynamic logic. From 1995 to 1997 he worked at Synopsys Inc. in Mountain View, CA.
